This course meets all requirements set by the State of Ohio ORC for persons interested in qualifying / obtaining their concealed carry permit. 12- hour course mandated by Ohio law that involves 10 hours of classroom instruction with 2 hours of practical training and range instruction.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Name, explain and demonstrate the rules for safe handling of a handgun and proper storage practices for handguns and ammunition.
- Demonstrate and explain how to handle ammunition in a safe manner.
- Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to shoot a handgun in a safe manner.
Students will receive two hours of practical training, including range time and live fire instruction from our NRA certified professional instructors.
Finally, students will complete a written examination that tests his / her competency.
What to bring: Students are not required to provide their own handgun, but are encouraged to do so. If you do not own a handgun, please let us know when you register and we will make arrangements for you. Please present a valid picture ID upon arrival.
Students are required to provide personal eye and ear protection. Additionally, if you bring your handgun, you are encouraged to bring a cleaning kit for your firearm, but this is not required. It is important that you wear clothing and footwear that is suitable for weather likely to be encountered on our outdoor range.
